Posted on
The Castle of Mey is Scotland's most northerly inhabited castle and can be found 6 miles west of John O'Groats. Constructed in 1573 it was purchased by The Queen Mother in 1953 and became one of her favourite homes. To this day its still visted annually by Prince Charles over the summer months.
The Castle and gardens are open to the public and is well worth a visit. A leisurely drive from the Old Manse will take approximately 2 hours.
